Denton Mallas, the football coach and Dean of Students at Louisiana School for the Deaf, has been selected to appear on the Emmy award-winning Netflix show, Queer Eye! Dash for Deaf Kids 5k

1 Mile Fun Run 8:00 a.m.
5K Run 8:30 a.m.
The 5K begins at LSD, located at 2888 Brightside Lane in Baton Rouge, La. The race leaves the school grounds, and proceeds through Riverbend Subdivision, returning to LSD for a fast finish. Race participants and their families are encouraged to join in post-race for food, beverages, awards and door prizes.

3 winners per age group: Standard Age group awards—Male and Female
All race entrants are eligible for door prizes

About Us

Our Vision
To increase, by tenfold, our fiancial support for and general public awareness of the Louisiana School for the Deaf.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for Louisiana School for the Deaf students by:
-Promoting public awareness of the history, traditions and culture of the school and the larger deaf community.
-Generating financial support to advance the school's excellence in education, and
-Serving to create greater unity between the school's community, the larger deaf community and the hearing citizens of Louisiana
The foundation's efforts will be guided by these values:
Honor for the history and traditions of the school, its students and alumni, and the larger deaf community.
Unity among board members concerning the foundation's intentions and direction.
